Official blog of Paadal.com
Paadal.com is built using Struts 2.0 which uses Spring to talk to Hibernate, which queries a MySQL database. The application is deployed on Tomcat, which is invoked by Apache running on a Linux server located 6000ft below here.
As always, no application can be completely built using open source technologies. Here comes the star of the show, the shiny new Paadal Player, built using Flex.

A couple of weeks ago, a friend introduced me to Pandora and then yesterday I was introduced to Paadal.com. The quality of website and the vast collection of songs makes it stand apart.
I have a small querry. While Pandora is financed through advts and paid membership service, I don’t see any advt on Paadal.com. Would it be possible for me know how this website is financed? Thank you

This website is financed out of our own pockets. We keep costs low in order to stay alive longer.

Hi,
Just out of absolute curiosity, are you looking for any volunteers to work with you guys technically. Being an ardent fan of TFM and a student interested in collaborative filtering and someone with 4 years of development experience, I have always dreamed of building something like this. If you guys wanted to discuss this further, please shoot an email.
P.S: This is no masked job application
